Arriving at Indira Gandhi International airport?

A friendly English speaking driver from Namaste India Tours will meet you at the exit of the beautiful new(ish) Arrivals Hall in Delhi with your name on a placard. (Yes, he'll be there if you're plane is delayed. Yes, he expects you'll need to change money before you leave the arrivals hall.) He'll load your luggage into an Etios or Dzire or similar car, and off you go. Package includes your first night's accommodation at one of our pre-booked hotels and your breakfast in the morning.

Regular/Standard Hotel: 1 or 2 people in 1 room: Rs 6,000 

Legacy/Upgraded Hotel: 1 or 2 people in 1 room: Rs 9,000

This package also includes a full day city tour of New and Old Delhi.  Our English speaking driver will be there at the exit of the Arrivals Hall with your name on a placard, even if you're plane is delayed.  He'll load your luggage into an Etios or Dzire or similar car, and off you go. You email us at least two weeks in advance of your arrival with your exact flight arrival information. We'll send a formal quote for you to approve and then a Confirmation for Services with our complete contact info and instructions. You get on a plane; we meet you in Delhi. We do what we said we'd do for the price you agreed to before you left home  There is no night time surcharge, no extra charge for luggage, no driving around in circles listening to how your hotel burned down the night before. In the unlikely event that you have some issue on arrival, or you can't find your driver, you'll just call us and we'll solve the problem. We never sleep.

If you like history, maybe you want to know how we got in to this crazy business?? We owe our existence to our Delhi airport transfers. It was the first service we ever offered and we were a solution to a big problem. We built a reputation by "being there" for worried people. We never advertised; all our business came from referrals and the positive reviews on travel forums like Lonely Planet and India Mike, and platforms like Trip Advisor. This is still true today.

First time travelers to India were/are understandably apprehensive. They've read the guide books, posted to travel forums, gathered advice and heard about all the arrival scams. Trust us, no one is a match for India's touts or counter clerks when you've arrived in the middle of the night, jet lagged and culture-shocked. There's a time and place to hone your bargaining skill and powers of perception. Do you really want to dive in your first night?? We thought there should be a better way to ease in to this incredible, but intense, country. So we created one. What a relief to know that when you stepped off the plane, Namaste India Tours would be there waiting to greet you, shelter you, and provide services at a price you agreed upon before you even left home. 

Thankfully, arriving at Indira Gandhi is not the brutal experience it was 25 years ago, and several years back we discontinued airport transfers as a stand alone service. Prepaid taxi services at both the International and Domestic terminals are much improved, and the feeding frenzy of taxi wallahs and touts awaiting you has (mostly) died away. So we tell you truthfully: If all you need is a ride to town, you can safely use the prepaid booth at the airport. You can also use services like Ola or Uber in Delhi, just like in any other real city! My, my. Times really have changed.
